Louis Caruana SJ
Louis Caruana SJ is a Jesuit priest ordained in 1991 and holds degrees in science, philosophy, and theology. He obtained his doctorate at the Department of History and Philosophy of Science, University of Cambridge. He is now Dean of the Philosophy Faculty of the Gregorian University in Rome and Professor of Philosophy, and Adjunct Scholar at the Vatican Observatory. His previous service includes seven years at Heythrop College, University of London, where he was appointed Reader in 2003. His research publications focus on the interaction between philosophy of science, metaphysics, and philosophy of religion and include three monographs: Holism and the Understanding of Science (2000), Science and Virtue (2006), and Nature: Its Conceptual Architecture (2015), and two edited volumes: Darwin and Catholicism (2009) and The Beginning and End of the Universe (2016, in Italian).
