'What Went Wrong with the World? Redeeming Sin amidst Ecological Destruction'
In an age of ecological destruction, collaborative efforts are crucial for describing the many rotten 'fruits' of this destruction, as well as uncovering its 'roots' and finding more sustainable alternatives. What is the role of Christian theology in this multi-disciplinary task? One contribution is that of social diagnostics or understanding what has gone wrong with the world. In this lecture, Ernst Conradie explores the plausibility of 'redeeming' sin-talk amidst ecological destruction.
The lecture was held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the University of Notre Dame. The lecture was co-sponsored by the Notre Dame Environmental Change Initiative.
Ernst M. Conradie is Senior Professor in the Department of Religion and Theology at the University of the Western Cape in South Africa.
